Clinton Steals Snowe’s Sniper Story

OK- now the over-hyped Clinton sniper story is worth talking about. The Washington Post has a great piece in their “Obama for President Section” also know as “In the loop” . It seems Hillary misremembered the story by using Senator Snowe’s factual account of a 1995 trip to Sarajevo. The Post cites Snowe’s experience in a States News Service dispatch from Oct. 20, 1995:

She glanced at the wall of firetrucks lined up along the airport tarmac, acting as shields from any Serb gunman looking to make a name for himself. She dashed across the runway to an armored vehicle waiting to whisk the senators to the city center. She glared at the hollowed-out remains of buildings along the city's main highway, better known as "Sniper Alley.

Senator Snowe was not available to comment. She has been on vacation fighting rebels in Angola.
