At the very least, John Frary got the biggest laugh at the Androscoggin County caucus Saturday.
But, a few people did walk up to him after his speech and said he got their vote.
Frary, a Farmington selectman, is running for the Second Congressional District against incumbent Mike Michaud. He said he decided to run because no one else had stepped up.
While he has a strong desire to unseat Michaud, the idea of “sweltering in the heat in Washington” isn’t that appealing,” he said in his speech.
“So that just gives me the ability to say whatever I damn well please,” he said.
Frary has already criticized Michaud for his support of impeaching Vice President Dick Cheney, and today criticized him and Rep. Tom Allen for giving a speech with the usual rhetoric at the University of Maine at Machias last week.
His campaign is taking off. He filed his Federal Elections Commission report Friday with $14,000 in funding -- $11,000 of his own and $3,000 coming from miscellaneous donations. “No one will be spared,” he said, in the coming weeks as he will solicit more donations.
Collins has the support of 94% of her party’s voters compared to Allen’s 80% support among Democratic voters. >

Not a chance....
This guy is going nowhere and has less of a chance then Jean Hay Bright did against Snowe....
I'd vote for him....
He's obviously smart and funny as hell. Yeah, we can't have any of THAT in Congress, can we?
It's the message, stupid!
Sometimes it's not just about winning, it's about getting the message out. I applaud John for helping do just that. As outspoken he is, there's nobody better to preach Republican values to "that other District."
Hear Ye. Hear Ye. Gather Ye together, John Frary has something to say and Ye would do well to digest every word!

Prof. John Frary is one of the finest wits in the USA today. His Lagado University Newsletter is the perfect pillory of our sadly fallen "higher education" system. Folks in Maine are very fortunate to be able to vote for him!
