WGME tonight: Maine’s toxic majority leader and CD1 candidates

“Toxic Hannah” Pingree will be on CBS Evening News with Katie Couric tonight at 6:30.

Pingree, Maine’s House Majority Leader, participated in a Natural Resources Council of Maine study last year where her body was tested for chemicals, an effort to bring awareness to the hazards found in everyday items.

For the past four years Pingree has led efforts to ban penta, octa and deca, flame retardant chemicals found in television sets and furniture.

CBS news reporters visited Pingree at her home on North Haven island. The piece will be about Pingree and the 12 other Mainers tested for chemicals, and the battle to remove chemicals from everyday products.

The segment will air after the local CBS affiliate hosts a live debate that Pingree’s mom, a candidate in the First Congressional District, will be participating in.

The debate begins at five on WGME and will feature CD1 candidates: Michael Brennan, Mark Lawrence, Chellie Pingree, Steve Meister, Ethan Strimling and Adam Cote.

Adam Cote

After watching the debate last night I have come to the conclusion that Adam Cote is the best person to vote for. He's young, blue collar, articulate, isn't owned by special interests groups and he has served in the military.

I am tired of seeing rejects from the state legislature run for higher office. They are devoid of any fresh ideas and just seem to be in it for ego boosts or for the benefit of their campaign benefactors. Adam Cote is a welcome breath of fresh air.

There's a new sheriff in town and his name is Adam Cote.

What about BIPAC?

If he's not owned by special interest groups, why did BIPAC endorse him? (BIPAC's support comes from, among others, ExxonMobil and Halliburton. They have not endorsed a single other Democrat in the country.)

Nothing to see here. Move along...

Term limits

maineobserver:

I would add that calling a legislator a "reject" because s/he has been term limited isn't really fair.
