John McCain landed in Portland last night for his visit today. Channel 8 has video of his arrival.
McCain will attend several fundraisers in Kennebunkport, including a $2,300 per ticket event at the Bush compound.
Then he will visit the Maine Military Museum for a public event at 2:30 p.m. Doors open at 12:30.
Maine Democrats have already responded to McCain’s visit. This morning, Maine House Speaker Glenn Cummings held a press conference with a Portland family, demanding answers from John McCain on the economic policies he voted for.
Also, an activist group had planned a march to the Bush compound this morning.
Rebecca Pollard, spokeswoman for the Maine Democratic Party, issued a statement.
"While the people of Maine are worried sick about how they're going to pay their heating bills this winter, John McCain is coming here asking for $5,000 to play golf," Pollard said.
