Republican Congressional candidate Dean Scontras tried a new campaign tactic Monday night.
He hosted a town hall meeting on the economy. By conference call.
The tele-town hall meeting was designed as a way to reach a number of voters spread out geographically. Dan Schuberth, a campaign staff member, said the demand exceeded the call’s 50-person capacity, with people from Aroostook to Kittery.
Schuberth said the call lasted just over an hour and involved some lively discussion. The campaign will explore new technologies to reach out to more voters, and even look at ways to implement the Web, he said.
The call was recorded and the campaign expects to have audio up Tuesday.
