Who knew the Dems were selling naming rights for the party?

The Hedge Fund mogul has a 42% stake in the total contributions for the State Democratic Party.  According to the just released report, Mr. Sussman contributed $260,000.  One check for $250,000 and another for 10K.  The Democrats raised $606,197 during the latest reporting period.

As Jessica reported earlier, Mr. Sussman also donated 50K donation to the House Democratic Campaign Committee.

How to make a story out of a non story in one easy step

Chellie Pingree has a love life.

I know -- I was always under the impression that politicians didn't do those things. Anyway, it would appear that Ms. Pingree does do those things and she does them with Don Sussman. I read all about it in the Bollard, which is a nifty local paper in Portland with a very talented writer in Chris Busby. (note: The July 2008 edition)

Not exactly -- You see, in politics when you don't quite answer a reporters question in a forthcoming manner, that triggers a reaction in the pituitary gland which in turn forces a reporter to track even the blandest of stories like a lion on the hunt. Bottom line: Someone's going down for the kill.

The Opponents to the People's Veto: PAC report highlights

The PAC, Health Coverage for Maine has filed its first PAC report with the Ethics Commission. One thing is clear; the PAC should be renamed to the Don Sussman PAC. Mr. Sussman, a long-time donor to political causes in Maine including CasinosNO, numerous candidates and party committees is in big for the opposition to the people's veto. Mr. Sussman dropped $100,000 dollars into the pool, out of $110,050. The other $10,000 came from the State Employees Association. Perhaps the MSEA is planning on switching all of their employees over to Dirigo Health......HA!
