Incoming!

It's a good thing Adam Cote spent some time in the military, because the enemy fire is really picking up.

Throughout most of the campaign, Adam has been dodging sniper fire quite well. He has endured the sporadic burst of fire from Strimling on Cote's republican donors as well as the occasional grenade tossed in by Lawrence or Pingree on his on-again, off-again relationship with the Republican Party.

Plenty of danger, but Cote managed to escape uninjured.....so far.

Perhaps the fire power, minimal at best, was about right for Cote. After all, he was a greenhorn, with no organization, no name ID and almost no chance of winning in the first district --a district that has long been dominated by the progressive left.

Well, new intel reports are confirming a dramatic increase in the number and scope of enemy fire aimed at Camp Cote. This week saw a steady stream of negative letters to the editor, negative news stories, email whisper campaigns on everything from his service in Bosnia to "Big Oil" connections and general word of mouth campaign designed to take down the once insignificant Cote campaign. The Pingree campaign decided to increase the fire power with a hit piece that landed in the mailboxes late this week, with rumors of a radio ad waiting in the wings.

What gives? How does a second tier candidate - who was a complete stranger to voters just a few months ago, warrant all this attention?

Someone in the Pingree camp must know something we don't. There have not been any public polls available, and it seems unlikely that she would want to waste any money on a district wide piece of mail attacking Adam Cote, unless there was a problem.

In the meantime, Cote is going to have to strap on his helmet, tighten his flak jacket and hunker down. The cavalry arrives on Tuesday. We will have to wait and see who they are there to rescue.

seems like fair criticism to me

Cote's running as a Democrat, but he's supported, financially and ideologically, by big business and notorious union busters. (like Cianbro.) So some skepticism from Democrats is only natural.

BTW Wally, have you seen some of the other people BIPAC endorsed?

The BIPAC endorsees are six SERIOUSLY conservative people and Adam Cote. What self-respecting Democrat wouldn't be concerned to see their potential nominee in the company of a bunch of Reaganites?

Funny

Maybe Ethan should run on his GREAT record of class envy, and living off the taxpayers instead of worrying about what he believes Adam Cote is. As a matter of fact Adam reminds me of the democrat party of old not the socialist party of today. We liberals love to tout bipartisanship so get over it and let the democrats of Maine decide, maybe we are tired of our socialist choices, there are not a lot of differences between the other candidates and Adam stands out as different.

Right, Adam stands out as

Right, Adam stands out as different because he is: he's a Republican running in a Democratic primary.

By the way, GMMA, you are clearly not a Democrat- we here in the party call it the Democratic Party. You must be a Ditto-head. Are you one of the many Republicans who switched parties to vote Cote in our primary?

Sounds like Ethan's

Sounds like Ethan's mouthpiece Dennis Bailey is trying to stir the shitpot. His ambulance chasing candidate Ethan Strimling is going down in flames and Pingree is finally catching on to the fact that people just don't like political insiders like her who have done nothing but screw over Maine taxpayers.

Both Chellie & Ethan are so arrogant and unaccomplished that people are sick of them and their narcissim. Adam Cote is the way to go to clean up washington.

By By Chellie & Ethan! BTW Dennis Bailey comb your damn hair you always look like you you just crawled out of the gutter after a 3 day drinking binge.

So sad...

..that there's so much hatred expressed by the supporters of Adam Cote. Almost makes me think they're Republicans...

Well, the bad news for Cote

Well, the bad news for Cote is people who get fired up and use phrases like 'political hacks' and 'screwing the taxpayer' are not the same people who vote in a democratic primary
