After the non stop Palin pregnancy pabulum, PolitickerME’s very own Jessica Alaimo has succeeded in infiltrating the People Magazine news coverage of the Republican National Convention. Her story on Karl Rove’s breakfast appearance with the Maine delegation, in which Mr. Rove referred to U.S. Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) as a "big, blowhard doofus," has grabbed the attention of news outlets across the globe.
When questioned by Alan Colmes on Fox News regarding his remarks, Mr. Rove stated that he thought his comments were “off the record”.
I don’t think so.
It would be difficult to imagine a scenario where one could reasonably expect to be off the record when speaking to a bunch of folks you don’t know, in a place crawling with reporters, particularly if you happen to be Karl Rove.
Perhaps someone from the Maine delegation should have warned Mr. Rove about the presence of Ms. Alaimo. I'm certain that he would have softened his remarks, perhaps dropping the word “doofus” and sticking to “big blowhard”.

Maybe Ms. Alaimo should have
Maybe Ms. Alaimo should have informed the speaker that there were press in the room. Otherwise it looks like she was just pretending to be another delegate.
