The Manchester Union Leader is reporting that a former national Republican Party official Jim Tobin has been indicted on new charges. The new charges allege that Tobin made false statements in an interview with an FBI agent in 2003.
Tobin's 2005 conviction was overturned by a Federal Appeals Court who sent the case back to the U.S. District Court in Concord. Judge Stephen McAuliffe acquitted Tobin in February, based on the limitations set forth by the Federal Appeals Court.
Oral arguments for the case will be heard on Monday, November 3, the day before the election.
